Welcome to the Rough Fell Sheep Website

Rough Fell Sheep often simply called ” rough fells” are native to Westmorland and the north west corner of the Yorkshire Dales.

As their name suggests, they are the breed of the rough fells around Kendal. They can be seen in their homelands of Kentmere, Long Sleddale, and the Howgill fells near Middleton, Sedbergh, Tebay, Cautley and Ravenstonedale.

Their long full fleeces and black and white patchy faces distinguish them from other breeds.
